Captions displaying partial width

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi all! For several months, my site has been displaying captions strangely. When images are not displayed full-width — e.g. if I align an image to the right and select “medium” for its size — the caption underneath that image is restricted to only about a third of the width underneath the photo, always aligned to the left, rather than filling the full width of the photo.

    Some notes:
    – This does not happen on full-width images.
    – Captions are always aligned left.
    – This was not always the case — on this piece (http://thedevilstrip.com/esports-program-at-university-of-akron-wraps-its-first-semester/), captions look as I would like them to look site wide.

Any advice? I’ve been moving captions and photo credits to the bottom of each post while I figure out how to fix this, but I’d prefer not to keep doing that.

    Thank you!

Forgot to add this: I’ve tried every way I know of adding a caption — adding it to the photo in the media library, adding it below the photo in the Gutenberg editor, etc. — and the problem persists.
