Captions for featured image missing

    I need help figuring out how to get my captions visible on the featured images for my pages.

    Hi there,

    The theme you are using is Twenty-twelve (Pink). I am afraid to inform you that this theme is not coded in such a way to display the caption of the featured image. You may try to find another theme that has this feature.

    You can achieve this with plugins too but that’s a part of the Pro plan. Have a look at the comparison between Free and Pro plan.

    Hi there,

    Most themes, including all the themes we offer on WordPress.com, don’t display captions on featured images. It’s just not something that’s standard in how WordPress themes are designed.

    So to do this you’d need a plugin, as suggested above, or you’ll need to create and install a child theme of your theme, where you can modify the theme’s PHP code to have the caption display.

    There is currently some discussion over on WordPress.org of adding an option to display captions when you add a featured image in the block editor, but for now it’s only discussion, and no one is working on adding this yet, so we’re not likely to see this for a while still :)
