Captions on pictures?
-
Can we have captions on pics, separate from the rest of the post? Just a line above or below or on top of the pic would be great… (or is this something we can do already?)
thanks…

Yes we can. You get a “Caption” box when you initially upload and insert an image in the post or page editor. For images already inserted, click on the image (in the visual editor), click the edit button that shows up (the mountain icon), add text in the “Edit Image Caption” box, click Update, click Update Post.
In almost all themes, captioned images automatically get a grey frame enclosing image and caption together.

This is one of the features that I really depend on and love. My Blogger blog leaves me to my own devices when it comes to comments to pictures. It is very difficult.. I am no HTML expert.

There is just one problem with captions and I know I’m not the only one who’s encountered it. From time to time, the caption box goes screwy and expands to the theme’s maximum image width. When this happens the only way to “fix” this seems to be to un-caption, update and then recreate the caption and then the box returns to normal. Another way is via a CSS script to limit the width of the caption box.

This could be an alternative to the option WP offers:
