captions underneath images not on top

    Hello, I am new to WordPress and have

      extremely

    basic coding knowledge. My site has lots of art images in grid blocks that require captions, but not on top of the image. It is very important they stay underneath the image, just like they do in books. It seems that in most of the grid gallery options, captions default to a placement on top of the image. Ideally I would like all the captions to line up with each other, and above them, the bottom of every image would be the same distance above its caption as all the others. Is there a simple theme in which the captions appear under the images or can I adjust this simply?
