Carousel, category and tag

    Hello,

    I’ve discovered a bug in the article carousel: the widget that displays several articles scrolling from left to right. To select scrolling items, you can select categories and tags. I noticed, after testing, that when you mix category and tag, only the tag is taken into account. Categories are not selected. When I removed the tag, many other items were selected.

    Hi! I was testing this now but I am not sure I’m seeing the same issue. If I select both a category and a tag in the settings of the Post Carousel block, I would normally expect it to only show blog posts that have both that category and tag assigned to them.

    So if I have a post assigned to “example category”, but it does not also have “example tag”, then normally I don’t expect to see it in the Post Carousel block.

    In order to better understand, I would like to ask: did you wish for the Post Carousel block to display posts that either are assigned to “example category”, or that have “example tag”, instead of narrowing the selection to blog posts which have both?

    Ah! Now I get it.
    Indeed, I was expecting the articles displayed to be from either the category or the tag!
    If I understand correctly, the article must belong to both the category AND the tag.
    I saw it more as an “OR” option, not an “AND” one.
    Perhaps it would be interesting to create this possibility?

    It’s worth noting that if you upgrade to the Business Plan, it would open up your options to any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” which in this case would also include several carousel (aka: Slider) options that may include logic options such as and/or:

    With that said, you could consider as a workaround a special category or tag you can apply to posts from either group that would help them to appear together in a single carousel. You could for example set up a “featured” category of some kind that you apply to as many different posts as you want, then set up the slider to look for the featured posts and display only those.

    This would give you more granular control to display posts in the carousel that can be from any standard category or tag, rather than needing to set up logic in the block itself.
