.cat domain problem when mapping
-
Hi!
I am happy to be starting my own webpage. I bought a domain (enricbotella.cat) and wanted to map it to my WordPress site, but the message saying that my domain “has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped” appears.
I’ve read it might be a probem with the domain ending, as it happened with some other endings. In those cases, it was solved with the help of the WordPress.com support team, so I hope we can solve that :)
Thanks for your help,
Enric

No problem.
I have mapped enricbotella.cat to your WordPress.com site and given it an expiration date of 2015-11-28. Please renew the upgrade before that date in order to complete the process.
Let me know if you have any trouble.

Wow, thank you!
I have already renewed it and changed the DNS of my domain.
Thanks for your help, rootjosh

Hi rootjosh,
I have one more question. My domain provider asks me the DNS names (ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com and ns3.wordpress.com) and their I.P addresses. How can I know the I.P’s I have to use?
Thanks again

‘Name’ and ‘IP’ are the two fields I have to fill in the DNS management page.
When I asked about the IP they told me I needed both of the fields (name and IP) and that I had to ask WordPress for the IPs.

I guess I’m having the same issue as this other user: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/which-are-the-ip-addresses-for-ns1wordpresscom-ns2wordpresscom-and-ns3word?replies=4

The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.
If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:
192.0.78.25
192.0.78.24

I am a little bit lost, they keep saying IP addresses are needed to map the url, even if we have ns1.wordpress.com, etc…
I’ll try the IP you provided me, I appreciate your help a lot.
