Catagories –> subcatagories
-
does anyone know how to get catagories to go something like how this website has it?
http://panelprogramming.com/default.aspx like you have the topics and then subtopics if you click on it? i have so many subtopics its just a nasty nasty mess -__- -
i don’t think this is possible in wp.com because it requires a plugin, if i’m not mistaken. another solution would be to have a tag cloud instead. a quick search in the forums will lead you to the right thread…

Manage->Categories->Edit (for whichever category you want to make a subcategory)->Category Parent (choose the category that will be the holding one for the subcategory)

I’m having an issue wherein the subcategories I assign beneath a category don’t show up beneath it or when one clicks on the main category. If I assign a subcategory to a post, the subcategory does show up but not in a way that visually connects it to its parent. I.e. The subcategory selected simply shows up at the bottom of all my other categories. The documenation doesn’t appear to show how to address this. I need to assign many more subs but will wait until I can sort this out. Thanks for your help….!!

i believe that this is a theme-dependent feature, which means if you changed themes you will have your subcategories & categories displayed in the proper hiearchy. maybe you could try this method?
