*&^%$! I was just creating a Post. Checked off 4 Categories after composing it. Previewed. All 4 there. Then I did a post edit (prior to Publish), did another Preview, and TWO of the Categories DISAPPEARED!
WordPress better put this on the top of their Must Fix list, dammit.
-
More %^$#@!@!!! Added the 2 missing Categories. Previewed. All 4 there. Hit Publish and POOF! Two of the 4 DISAPPEARED!!
-
Post-Publish, I do Edit, add the two missing Categories. THIS time they stay.
But this is NO frikkin way to have to do a blog!!

Hello, I wonder how to make sub – categories?
I don’t find it…
I want to have something like this:
Music
– prog
– blues
– …
Video
– war
– action
– ….How can i do that

My categories don’t stick. I save and then I’ll see only one took. Then I’ll add the new categories to my post and save again. Sometimes it works. Then I’ll preview and post, all is well. Then I go back the next day and the category has been removed. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes! Read the rest of the thread.
All day I’ve had to go post-Publish edit my posts to put in missing Categories.
WordPress, I am GOING INSANE from this!! PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!

In Manage; categories
When you add/edit a category there is an option to set a parent. So make ‘music’ the parent of ‘blues’ etc. -
After you add categories if they do not show up, force refresh the blog page. For me at least, the categories appeared after I refreshed the page.
-
Which blog page do you mean?! The post entry form? That will wipe out the text!
Look, the damned Categories are **broken**. This has been going on with EVERY SINGLE POST I have published today.
This is not a Refresh issue. It’s a WordPress messing things up issue.
And, dammit, I want ALL Categories back as my DEFAULT.
What hebephrenic came up with the dimwitted retarded idea to make Most Used the frikkin default? Him, I want his neck to step on. NOW!

it’s not a matter of them disappearing later on. the problem is that i click on all the categories that i want when i write the diary. then i save it. when i go back, they are all gone, except for the most frequently used ones. when i posted this latest diary, once again, all the categories were missing except the frequently used ones. i had to publish the diary, edit and add all the ones except the frequently used ones and then save it again. only then do they show up. i haven’t had a problem with them disappearing later on.
The same thing is happening to me.

I have formally emailed Support. I think everyone else should too. If they get several complaints, they will take it seriously and move it to the top of their Must Fix NOW List.
-
We fixed a bug relating to the All Categories being saved properly. It should be working now.
-
Nope. And there’s a new bugaroo.
I now get a *blank* Category at the bottom of the hated and despised default (by *your* choice, not mine!) Most Used list. Pre-checked too!
Beat on that code some more. It still has a life of its own. Recruit zombies to kill it, if need be. I’ll take up a damned collection for zombies because I do NOT want to go through a Day Four of this!
(Copy & pasted from the other thread. This is how up the wall this is making me.)

Nope. There’s a link for All Categories that when I click produces a little ring which does nothing but go round and round then quits after 5 minutes.
I am going to formally e-mail support about this and the ongoing problems uploading photos and graphics.
I’ve had it. Whatever morons decided it was a brilliant idea to fix something that wasn’t broken … I had few if any problems prior to the upgrade and now nothing but problems. The upgrade has so many bugs and problems in it that it never should have been activated.
