  I am trying to create categories, but when I attempt to create a custom menu, I get 2 categories (my menu and uncategorized) that I can’t figure out where they came from and can’t get rid of.
  Basically what I really want to do is take my existing pages and change them to categories. I will then edit my pages to something new. How do I add a new category?
  I can’t seem to be able to do this.
  Also, will the existing information in the current pages be transferred to the new categories.

  Hi there – You don’t want to use pages, in that case. Rather, you want to assign your posts to the categories, and then create category pages, as described here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/

  If you get stuck, let me know which step you’re having trouble with.
