  Hi folks,
  How do I hide or take away the categories menu on my blog.
  (Not delete categories from posts)
  I use twenty twelve design, and on the right side I have all the categories listed.
  I would like to hide them. Just having the blog roll and archive menu.

  Put any widget at all in the sidebar, then remove it. That wipes the entire widget set out. Then you just add in whichever widgets you want.

  All themes here will display a default display that appears to contain a sample set of widgets in the sidebar and/or sidebar when you have not yet added any of your own. Go to Appearance > Widgets and add the widgets you desire and configure them and the default display will disappear.
