  I have created a situation where I have accidentally duplicated several categories and as a result posts in those categories do not appear in the primary category but a second one. I’ve tried every way to “unduplicate” the categories but have had no luck. How may I remedy this?

  Define “every way”?

  You need to remove the duplicate categories from each and every post that has them. I don’t think there’s a shortcut.

  Every way = deleting the categories from my dashboard entirely and then recreating them. I’m not concerned about previous posts. Only future posts. Because I accidentally created a category twice it won’t seem to allow me to have the category as a singular one.
