  All I want to do is try and delete the categories I’ve made to start fresh and create new ones. I can add easily, but there doesn’t seem to be a site that actually shows how to accurately delete categories on wordpress.com. I just spent an hour trying to figure out what in the world needs to all happen to install wordpress, and it’s not worth it. All I want is to delete categories. And if that’s not possible on the website, without the demonic download process, that’s ludicrous. I’ve spent days trying to figure this simple thing out and I’m beyond frustrated.

  I find it easiest to work from the old dashboard to do this kind of category editing. This forum entry should help:
