  Is there any way I can delete a category, such as uncategorized, from the drop down menu when I go to add a post to a category before posting it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  You can delete categories, but not there. See the Managing Categories in WP Admin section of the Categories support page.

  The “uncategorized” category is a special case. Each site must have a default category, but it may be changed. See the Setting the Default Category section of the Categories support page.
