I’m looking to create a NON ALPHABETICALLY list of my categories on my blog to create a cooking menu (STARTERS, MAIN DISHES, SOUPS ETC…).
    How can I do that?
Any help will be very appreciated.

Categories are displayed in alphabetical order in the Categories widget, so if you use that widget the only thing you can do is add numbers or other symbols before the actual names.

Alternative: you can create a custom list of links to your categories using html coding in a text widget (complicated, but I can give you the details if you wish).

In the meantime you should try downsizing the photo you’ve put in the image widget (maximum sidebar width for the theme you’re using is 200px).

Thanks so much for your reply.

I really don’t love much the idea of adding numbers to customize my categories list, but if this is the only option, I’ll do this.
Is it very complicate to create a custom list of links to categories using html coding?
I have no idea how this works.

Does the image widget on the side bar look that bad? Do you really think that I need to downsizing the photo?

Re the image in the sidebar: You mean it’s intentionally so? The way it’s stretched it looks as if it’s so by mistake, plus it pushes all the other widgets way down: pages, categories etc. are more user-friendly if near the top, i.e. if you need no scrolling to access them.

Re creating the custom list: You select each category, copy its complete URL from the address bar of your browser, paste into a simple text file; turn each URL into a link; arrange the links into a list; paste end result into text widget. Codes for links and lists here:
