  Hi,

  I have 2 questions regarding the use of categories.

  The first one is about the widget sidebar that shows the categories. (I actually found this question as a suggestion but the link to it doesn’t show the answer). I would like to know if I could manage the categories that are shown in this widget. right now ALL categories are shown in this widget and this is going to get a little crowded and chaotic when I start adding more. So is it possible to select the ones that you want to show and the ones you don’t want to show?

  The second question is about the category that shows just above the title of a post. This looked very nice, but I started adding more categories to posts and now it’s become a very very long list above the title. Is there a way to show a just one or two categories? Or is there another way to do this?

  Hey there,
  The solution to your first question So is it possible to select the ones that you want to show and the ones you don't want to show? can be achieved by:
  Click ‘Customiser’ -> Go to ‘Widgets’ -> ‘Sidebar’ -> ‘Add Items’ -> expand ‘Categories’ and select the ‘Visibility’ button. There you can add conditions where you can choose to ‘Show’ or ‘Hide’ certain categories, if and when required. You can select ‘Add Condition’ to show or hide more than one category. Don’t forget to ‘Save & Publish’ your amendments.

  The second question is about the category that shows just above the title of a post.
  Are you talking about the ‘wielrennen’ category’s drop down menu?

  You can also choose to Tick the ‘Display as dropdown’ option in the Categories widget.

  Hi,

  First of all thank you for your quick reply!

  Your answer to my first question will solve my problem I guess, although it’s not quiet the same as just being able to select the ones you want to show and which ones not, but it’ll do (once i figure out how it works).

  The second question I had is not specifically about the ‘wielrennen’ drop down menu. I give my posts several category’s so it shows up on several pages, but on my frontpage where the posts are shown I would just like to be able to select 1 or 2 category’s that I added to the posts and let those category’s be shown on top of the post as a little extra information about what the post is about. Now if I select to show category’s with potsts on the front page it shows ALL category’s above the post and thats just too much.
