Categories

Hi. I recently just made a new post about the new galaxy phone. But Im stuck on which category to put it in. Because I have alot of categories already, I don’t wanna add any unnecessary categories. So I don’t know if I should add a new category to put it in, put it in one of the existing categories already there, or just keep it as uncategorized for now
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi koolbeanz247
It’s your choice, nobody except you can help you in this. If you feel that the blog post fits into the existing categories add your bog to it, else just create a new category. In the end, it’s your blog.

Hello there, hope you don’t mind me adding a comment.
Looking at the way your site is organized, I didn’t find your categories in a category widget or a category cloud widget, nor are you linking to category pages in your site navigation, so adding another category may not be obvious to anyone but you.

Hi. Yes I do have a categories widget at the bottom of the page in my sidebar on the homepage. If you go all the way down you will see. I would send a screenshot but thers no way to send screenshots through here

Hello again, How did I manage to overlook that? :)
There aren’t a lot of categories there, so again it’s up to you if you want to add another one.
Here’s a good summary of the difference between categories and tags which may help you organize your site https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories-vs-tags/

Ok. But is there a limit to how many categories you can have cuz I don’t want to many uneccessary categories

Juat one more question. For one of the pages on my site the 90s page when you scroll futher down to the movies section the content is all bunched together? And also some of the pictures on the page are not showing

There isn’t a limit on the number of categories and/or tags you have on your website. The only limit is how many categories/tags you assign to a single post.
For this other issue, could you please open a new forum thread and give the direct link to the page you need help with? Thanks.

Why is there a limit to how many categories/tags you assign to a single post? And how do you know when you’ve reached that limit
-
Using too many categories/tags on a single post can get your posts dropped from the WordPressdotcom Reader. The recommended limit is around 5-15 total. That’s mentioned in the Categories support guide I linked to earlier. Worth a read. :)
