Thank you for replying. Yes, I can’t use the categories in the sidebar, it doesn’t work! How can I do to put categories in my blog?
Thanks again

For example you can find here the guide for “the morning after”

Is there a guide for “Coraline theme”?
Thanks

This is not theme dependent. Categories operate the same way in every theme. You assign them to your posts and depending on the theme they display either at the top, bottom or on the side. When the Category links are clicked on post they direct to the global tagging pages. Until there is one published post in each Category the Categories widget has no data that it can display. When you have published a post with Categories assigned to it the link to the post appears in the Category widget and when clicked those links direct only to posts in your own blog.

Thanks a lot for helping me. My problem is not how to use the categories in my posts but how to see them on the home page, at the right side of the posts as it worked with my previous theme. Now, on the home page, I can see only “link” and the “last posts” but not “categories”. Why?!
Thank you -
I see this at the bottom of your latest post:
Inserito in Generale, Luminari
Etichette astrologia, Daniela Di Menna, Luna Nuova -
Yes, it’s true, you can see the categories I used for each post at the bottom of each one, but I would see all the categories on the home page at the right of the post, near links, where everybody can see all the categories I use and choose a topic from there. It worked in this manner with the oldest theme I used…it’s more understandable and useful for readers.
Thanks again -
Go to appearance > widgets and add the categories widget to your sidebar. If there are no other widgets showing in the sidebar at appearance widgets, then what you are seeing on the site is the default sample set created by the theme itself. When you add the first widget, the sample set will disappear, so then just add in the widgets that you desire and arrange them by drag and drop as desired.

I tried but it doesn’t work. Thank you for your support, I like this theme maybe I have to renounce…
Thanks again, bye -
Which sidebar are you putting it into at appearance > widgets? You appear to have your layout set for one sidebar on the right, which is the “secondary” widget area. Put the categories widget into the secondary widget area.
-
Yes, I’d like to to use the widget area but not the “secondary” one because in this case I’ll have categories on the top of the home page near “contacts” etc. I’d like to have it in the “main area” but, if I put the sidebar here, “links” and “last post” disappear! That’s incredible!
Thanks for patience -
As Obama said: “Yes, we can”!
all is ok, I’m very happy now, have a look to my blog, now it’s more useful.
Thanks to all -
You are welcome.
If you have not yet added any widgets to a site, what shows is a sample set created by the theme. Once you had a widget that sample set disappears. All you have to do to get those other widgets back though, is to drag them over and into the sidebar and arrange them as you desire.
