categories

i have assigned posts to categories and parent categories, but every post comes up under every category. i tried deleting everything and starting from scratch, but they came right up again! i know i’m doing something wrong, but can’t figure it out, so thanks if anyone can help!

the blog is http://www.easingintomyfifites.wordpress.com, and let’s eat, i’m just saying and just for today are all supposed to be categories. and i made them parent categories. but the posts i assigned don’t go where i tell them. thanks for taking a look and i appreciate any insight!

i keep working on it and making more andmore of a mess! i’m not sure what to do! but thanks for taking a look, i appreciate it! it seems like every single post (i only have 4 or 5) goes to every single category, even tho i’ve assigned them correctly. thanks! -
The Categories widget displays all the categories that have been used in published posts. You only add it once. The title of the widget isn’t a “parent category”, it’s just the title of that section of your sidebar: it should be “Categories”, “Topics”, “Subject Index” or the like.

You should delete the redundant category widgets (in Appearance>Widgets), not the categories.
