When I select a category from the side bar, it opens a page with the full posts. Is there a way to have it open a page with just a few lines of each post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can split text by inserting “the more tag” into our posts so only excerpts of posts appear on the front page of our blogs. There are some themes like Inuit Types, Fresh & Clean, Fusion, Chateau and others that automatically display only excerpts on the front page of the blog. In some theme there are active excerpts boxes we can use to override the display that the themes that have this automatic feature provides. In those we can create our own excerpt text and even include the code for thumbnail sized images.
Re: Category/archive pages: full posts or not
In the most themes, posts on category or other archive pages display just as they do on the front page of the blog. In others only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. We cannot edit themes or templates and change what they are coded to provide. -
P.S. Note that until there is a published post in any category there will be no data to display on a Categories page or in a Categories widget.
