Categories and Parents

    I’m cleaning up my categories and tags. How do parent categories come into play in the blog post? For my genealogy blog, would I want to list states as parents of county categories and surnames as parents of given names?

    At first I was going to list the counties and given names as tags. Help! Thanks.
