categories and widgets
-
I have three categories and on all three they have the same widgets. I would like to have control what widgets show up on what categories. I don’t want them all to be the same.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have these static pages – not categories.
Resorts/Hotels
Resources
Reviews
Personnel Stories
Testimonials
Contact
ReviewsStatic Pages and dynamic Category Pages are not the same. The former cannot automatically update but the latter do.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/By default the front page of the blog is the post that displays all posts in your blog. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

The last Review was a mistake. I just deleted it. The following ones work the way they should. There linked to a website.

But the other ones:
Reviews
Personnel Stories
TestimonialsI like to control what widgets are each of them.

Widgets have “visibility” settings so we can select which pages they display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

Ok I have that figured out. However under my review page. I can not hide the search option, the Archives and Meta option. I see Archives under widgets but it didn’t work.
-
To eliminate sidebar display of all widget you install and empty text widget. Will that work for you?
-
-
If you do not want any widgets to appear in a sidebar or in a footer area for widgets you can install an empty text widget at the top and all widgets will disappear.
-
-
Oh no. Sorry. :( On any given page you overridden the default widgets displaying by selecting and installing only the widgets you want to display and using visibility settings.

Hi there,
I took a look at your site, and I only see the Search, Archive, and Meta widgets on the front page at http://accessibledestination.wordpress.com/ . If you’d like your other widgets (Archives, Recent Posts, and Custom Menu) to appear on that front page, you can add the front page to your visibility settings for those widgets.
If you don’t want any widgets to show up on your front page, you could add a blank Text Widget to your sidebar. Then, you can set the visibility for that widget so it is only shown on the front page.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

I’m so sorry. This site is linked with a HTML site I build. This link will help. Sorry again. Your input is welcomed.

Hi there,
At that link, I see the widgets that you’ve added under Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard: https://cloudup.com/cIs704JGubE
That’s because you’ve added the Review page to those widgets in your widget visibility settings. If you don’t want those widgets to show up there, you can remove the Review page from the widget visibility settings for those widgets.
If needed, you can add a blank Text Widget — that will make sure the default Search, Archive, and Meta widgets don’t show up on pages that don’t have any other visible widgets.
If you have any further trouble, please describe exactly what you want to appear in the sidebar and I’d be happy to help.

@rachelmcr
Thanks so much for the assist here. I was sure this was the widget visibility setting issue and you have confirmed that. -

Ladies, I thought I was on a roll in solving my problems lol. :). People will not be going directly to my WP site. They get it from my original site under the discussion form tab. Here is the site.

But if you still see a problem rachelmcr. I welcome your thoughts.
