Missing Widgets

My category drop-down widget vanished from the main page. I checked the dashboard under the Design settings and the widget was gone from there too. I already sent a message to staff and he already replied back. The theme I use is Sapphire.
After that happened to me earlier today, I went into the dashboard and put back my drop-down category widget. I just logged in again now and it’s gone again.

Same here, categories gone. Also one of my pages isn’t showing as of a few days back even though once in the editor, it says ‘published’.
-
My just reset again. It worked for a few hours and now it’s back to ‘a’ and dropdownlist.
-
Same thing on my blog (http://kanadaihirlap.com . The letter “a” appears above my categories, which have been transformed into a drop down menu. Also, my comments have all disappeared from the first page. Very strange, indeed. I have reset my site 10 times today.

I have fixed this three times in the last hour alone. Every time i fix it and save the changes it only lasts for 10-15 minutes and then it reverts back to the “drop down” category with the “a” as the title. This is really annoying.

Has anyone experiencing this problem contacted support? This thread has been modlooked but that is no guarantee they will see it.

I contacted them several hours ago (I think it was more than 7 hours ago, but sometime around when I first posted here), but I haven’t gotten any response, feedback, or questions from them. Another blogger also mentioned that they contacted support an hour or so ago.

My categories are now changing every 10 minutes or so by themselves. At one point, a drop-down menu appears with the letter ‘a.’ Then the menu is gone and the categories are listed, but without the number of posts in each. Five minutes ago, I still had comments appearing on my first page; but now they are all gone again. Frustrating…I hope that support looks into this soon.

Haha. Glad to see this is a system problem, and not just me. Yes, I contacted support. I went into my widgets and changed it back, but within a short while the problem was back.
Oh well, at least they know about the issue now.
-
Same bug here: I fixed my category widget’s settings several times to no avail. After a few minutes it justs resets itself to that cursed drop-down menu with the title “a”. It’s the first time I encounter this bug, I hope it will be fixed soon…
-
My archive widget registers the change in my dashboard after I save it, but my blog still shows that “a” and the scroll-down menu despite that. Sigh.
-
Me too–I am using sandbox, so it’s clearly some sort of global change.
And it’s pretty darn annoying to have another “improvement” sprung on us with out warning!! -
Mine just reset yet again. It would be nice if someone from wp.com could take a moment to tell us if they are working on it. Several people have sent emails and there’s probably lots of other blogs out there with the same bug that haven’t noticed it yet.
-
I just sent a support request as well, so hopefully WordPress will respond, with all of us contacting them with the same problem. There seem to be dozens of us on this thread alone.
