Missing Widgets
-
I have nothing to do with this but I can tell you one thing, if you have recently changed your theme you can get problems with yuor widgest such as titles changing and widgets not appearing
-
I regret to say I´m reading this a tad too late! And yes, I´ve lost all my widgets when I changed themes. The text widgets I can rewrite again; however, it’s very annoying that the ones such as “Top Posts”, “Links” etc… are also disabled…hopefully not forever? Was some coding taking care of Widget portability forgotten along the way?
-
I am having the exact same issue and even if I change my theme back the widgets are still broken…
-
i have a problem i click on text widget the edit but i cant type in anything or paste ??? what do i do?
-
I’m having the exact same problem as despistada. I’ve changed themes and on the widgits page it lists the widgits but they do not appear on the sidebars or on the blog and there is no way to add them because it is listing them as already added. I have contacted support but haven’t heard back (from my second message to them).

I have the same problem and I had changed a few themes before this before settling on my current one. So I didn’t remember which theme I had “left” my flickr widget on. I actually backtracked my themes one by one and finally “found” my flickr widget on the andreas09 theme. I wonder if the same thing could work for you.

Not sure I understand what you mean, bawee. Should we change our theme again? I did receive a message from the support staff saying that they had a “bug” and they were working on fixing this ASAP.
Thanks for trying to help. -
Contrary to the [resolved] status of this post, this issue is not resolved. I just signed up with wordpress.com and added a few widgets. Now the widgets are missing from my blog and I cannot add them back. Each added widget does not have an ‘add’ or ‘remove’ link and the widget Appearance page states that I have 0 widgets. I’ve tried adding and removing other widgets and the whole thing seems pretty flakey. I sent in a support request and received the following response:
Hi,
We are currently working on some issues with our widget code; we do hope to have it resolved shortly and apologize for the inconvenience. We’ll let you know when a fix is in place.

rockitriddle, welcome to WP, sorry you are having troubles, too. You are correct that this issue has not been resolved. I’ve been very happy using WP, so I do hope you’ll stay while this problem is getting fixed. Did you by chance add the widgits on one theme then change to another theme and lost them?
I changed to an older theme and got the widgits back, however, I do not want to stay with this theme and will change it as soon as this technical “bug” gets fixed.
-
Just to try and clear things up a bit – there’s currently a bug that causes funny behaviour with widgets when you change themes. We’re working to get it fixed asap.
-
Thanks, Hanni. Hope you’ll post here when it’s fixed so we know when we can change to another theme (with working widgits).

I´m having problems with my widgets, want to add a new one but after clicking ´save button´ the widget disappear. Yesterday i got the same problem when a tried to add a new post.
I haven´t changed my theme since I started the blog.
Hope they´ll fix it soon, it´s really frustrating.. -

Hi I have updated my blog http://www.blog.leapfish.com and it has dropped my widgets at the very bottom of all of the posts. So the right hand widget bar ends up at the extreme bottom of my blog.
How do I get that back to the top and anchored so it isn’t at the bottom.
Also I have no “appearance” option in my dashboard. I took a look at the forum answers and checked on where it sould be – but on my dashboard it is not there.
Please help – my blog is not looking good….Thanks in advance for the help
-
Ok ignore the part about the widget dropping down on the page that is fixed now. It was an html issue on my post.
However, please let me know if I am missing something on the “appearance” functionality on my dashboard. I still cannot find it.
Thanks in advance…

If I start a new blog can I link the old one to it, so I won’t lose the posts and links, and would I then be able to get all the widgets? I know you are working on this problem of trying out a new theme and losing widgets, but I have been without recent comments and recent posts and since this was a new blog people don’t know what I am writing about. Or maybe, I can go back to the older version and find all my widgets there?

I have the black letterhead theme, and have had since I started the blog. Now, lo’ and behold all my widgets are GONE! Help me, please! I’m shrinking!

Here is some ways to get back your widgets back
1. Change your them to every other theme there is and when done go back to the them you had when your widgets dissapeared
2. Change to a none widget theme and then change backIf any don’t work please tell me.
