Categories are not being displayed in my blog.

  I have made 4 categories and all are being displayed in my dashboard but on my blog, no categories are being displayed. How to resolve this?I have also place a widget of categories in my sidebar, but even then no category is being displayed. Please help me

  You have no Posts – a categories needs to be assigned to a Post before it will be displayed.

  As @auxclass mentions categories need to have at least one published post in them to display on your blog.

  Since you’ve already created the categories you just need to publish a post in each category and the categories will appear in your sidebar.

  Also note that as soon as you do publish a post with a category assigned to it the “404” page not found error message on your front page will disappear. It appeared because you deleted the “Hello World” post.

  A single Post can be a member of every category if all you want to do is work with the display of the categories – only need one Post

  Tell me one more thing that when i try to post some thing in category, then it happened that it goes to uncategorized category. Why is it so?

  If you don’t assign a category for a Post the un-categorized is the default.

  Just edit the Post and assign a new category to the Post and un-check the un-categorized

  You can change category’s at any time.

  You can also change the default category to be something other than uncategorized at Settings > Writing in your blog’s Dashboard.
