Categories as tiles on the homepage

  Hi,

  I’m looking for a theme that places categories on the homepage, as tiles.

  Example: http://startupstash.com/

  At the moment, I can only find ’tile themes’ that put posts in tiles.

  Can anyone point me in the right direction? I’m not even sure what term I should be googling with!

  The only themes we can use on any blog’s hosted by wordpress.COM are found here https://wordpress.com/themes/

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

  notting1234 – can you clarify whether you’re looking for a theme here on WordPress.com or a self-hosted site where you’re running the WordPress software on your own hosting?

  I can’t think of a WordPress.com site offhand that does what you’re looking for but I could try to think of a possible workaround if you confirm that you’re hosted here with us.

  I don’t have a site hosted anywhere yet – just trying to find out the template as a first step.

  If you’re not sure whether you want to host your site here on WordPress.com or if you want to find your own a host, this page may help you:

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  If you need to do something specialized like display categories in a grid you might be better of with a self-hosted site where you can create or purchase a theme that does exactly what you want.

  You might try searching the WordPress.org showcase for other directory-type themes as that’s not something we have on WordPress.com.
