Categories at Bottom
-
anyone know how to get rid of the list of categories at the bottom of my page?

That’s part of the theme you use. If you don’t like it, you’ll have to use a different theme, or buy the CSS upgrade and fix it yourself.

While it is true that this the way the theme has been designed if you pull your Categories widget out of your sidebar -> Presentation -> Widgets then you will eliminate the category display in the footer. However, you will also be removing a very useful navigational tool that your readers could have used. IMO kimik0 is right. If this is a deal breaker for you then change to another theme. -

Is there a way to limit the Categories that the widget shows in the sidebar? I’ve been using tags in a slightly unconventional way and therefore have lots of them that people wouldn’t ever want to sort posts by. Can I pare down my list at all (maybe this is an option in a different template?)?

LOL. I have 143 tags myself (and growing) because I blog about anything. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to pick which ones are visible. The only option is to use the Dropdown display to keep it from cluttering up the view. I also have it set to display in a hierarchy since I keep mine organized in a few top-level categories.

You can set yours to be a dropdown by checking the “Show as dropdown” option in the Categories widget configuration.

Actually, if you use the Tag Cloud widget instead of the whole category listing, it shows only the ones you use most. There’s a maximum, but I don’t know what it is.

I want the same thing as poptopia and as a matter a fact i have bought the CSS upgrade as kimk0 suggested. But can anyone pls tell me what i should change in my CSS to get rid of just the categories under my posts and leave the list in my sidebar.
Thank you in advance,

i found a part of the solution to my problem:
display: none;
but now my “edit” and “comment” options are gone too!
someone suggested:
.entry-meta .entry-category {
display:none;
}but that doesn’t change anything to my site. if it’s because of the theme i use, what happens if i change it, will i need to rewrite all my CSS codes?
