Categories cloud widget

  I just deleted a bunch of old posts, and recategorized the remaining post. Despite all that, and despite clearing my browser’s cache, the category cloud widget keeps displaying the old -and now no longer used – categories. It’s driving me more than a little nuts, as I not only don’t want the unused categories showing, but it’s showing categories that now no longer exist at all.

  Is this a case of me being stupid, or the widget acting up?

  Maybe you could just try waiting for sometime and see if everything gets fine. The servers may take some time to change the display.

  Yes, the sidebars are cached so it sometimes takes a little time to reflect the changes.

  And now what’s driving my nuts is that the categories were fine when I first looked at the page about two hours ago, but I just looked again, and they’re back to the old, wrong categories.

  Well I’m guessing that the only way that could happen is by a cached version showing up. IMO volunteers cannot help you. Your blog needs staff intervention. Support hours are Monday – Friday 8 AM to 4 PM, Pacific time. http://wordpress.com/contact-support/
