Categories, content counter possible?
-
Hi all, I have come acorss a couple of blogs that have categories on the side bar and next to eash category in the list there is a number to tell you how many post are in each section. I was wondering how this is done, unfortunately the couple of blogs I saw with this I cannot find now as I was just randomly going through loads when I first found wordpress.com!
Thanks in advance for any information :)

Go to Design > Widgets > Categories > Edit, tick “Show post counts”, click Save. (Same thing applies to the Archives Widget.)

Aaaaah! Excellent thanks. Typical, I was scratching my head thiking it must be some clever bit of html or something and it was actually as simple as ticking a box!
Thank you!!

Hey there,
i’ve got a question concerning the “post count” of categories.
Please have a look at the category-list of my blog as it is now: http://blog.matrixagents.org/As soon as i tick the mentioned setting on, it does in fact display the post count, but unfortunatelly in a ugly new line:
http://matrixagents.org/screencasts/2008-08-18_1539.pngI have already searched all the code files of the template ( ), but i just cannot figure out where to change this.. i want the post count only seperated by one “space” from the category’s name.
Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

@matrxagent, that is a self-hosted blog. This forum for those hosted here on the free-hosting service, wordpress.com. You need to head over to http://wordpress.org/support/ as that is the forum that provides support for self-hosted blogs.

Yep, i noticed that _seconds_ after posting, sorry!
Couldn’t find a way to delete/edit my posting. Thanks for your patience! -
Not a problem, happens all the time – it’s confusing with the .com and .org thing. Happy blogging.
