Categories disappeared when WP made changes?

  • Unknown's avatar

WordPress changed and now I can’t find my categories anymore? I’m used to “the old” version of WP and all of a sudden WP changed it to the new one (you know the “beep bopp…”)
As it is now, I have to publish an entry and then go back and edit it to get to add my categories?
Surely it can’t be meant to work like that? It’s way more time consuming and not very user friendly.
    Please help!

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

In the new post editor, you can add categories in the “Tags & Categories” section on the left. If you start typing in the Categories box there, it will suggest the names of your existing categories (or you can add new ones there).

If you prefer using the classic editor, you can use this link to start a new post there:

    https://vhcbloggen.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

To get there from https://wordpress.com/ you can click on “My Sites” in the upper left, and then click on “WP Admin” in the sidebar to open the classic WP Admin dashboard. You can view your existing posts under Posts > All Posts and start a new post under Posts > Add New.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
