CATEGORIES FOR HOMEPAGE
-
Hi, Could you let me know how to get categories to display as subheads on the homepage in the Canard theme. The example picture shows ART, ARCHITECTURE etc. I’ve only been able to get my posts to display like this when using the default category, rather than the others.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
In the Canard demo, the links Art, Architecture, Car, etc. at the bottom of the header that you refer to are items in a custom menu located in the primary menu location (of the four menu locations available on Canard), and they link to Category Pages.
I’ve only been able to get my posts to display like this when using the default category, rather than the others.
See the Categories support page, and specifically its following sections:
- Adding Categories – assigning posts to various categories
- Assigning Default Category — You may leave the default category as “uncategorized,” or change the default category. For example, you might change it to the most frequent category found on your site.
- Category Pages & Menus — A category page is automatically created by WordPress.com when one or more posts is assigned to a cateogory. This section of the support page describes how to add links to category pages, as menu items, to a custom menu.
