Categories have partially vanished

    Hello, I am helping a friend trying to resolve an issue on her blog evinok.net

    The issue is categories are no longer listed when creating a new post, although 2 do appear under most used 0 are displayed in all categories.

    When looking at the home page it displays 6 categories
    When looking at the categories page the list is blank but it mentions there should be 6 items.
    When looking at the post list it says all posts are uncategorized, if I edit one no categories are displayed except once again in the most used section (for the posts that match those categories they show as selected as well)

    The blog has just been updated to 3.2.1 but this did not help (previous version was 3.1.2 I think)
    The issue seem to start when some software updates where done on the server but this has affected no other website so I am not quite sure how to fix it.
