Categories hierachy

  Hi there,
  My blog is sheereverafter.wordpress.com, writing in the Toujours theme about weddings.
  I want my categories to only display the ‘mother’categories on the front page only (this are in capital letters: CATEGORY X Y and Z. I have several sub-categories under these, but I would like them to not be displayed amongst the CAPITAL categories on the home page, but as sub links once you click on each home page category. Is this possible? How can I do this?

  Also if that isn’t exactly what you are looking for you should consider using tags to group posts together and display them in you “mother” category. Support docs here https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/tags/

  If you try tags and it isn’t what you are looking for you can always convert them back into categories.
