Categories link to related blogs

I was exeperimenting with the Cutline template and when I added a category it links to related blogs (same topic as my blog). I don’t want that to happen; I only want it to link to related categories WITHIN my blog and not leave my site. Suggestions? Thanks

Assuming that you are blogging here on WordPress.COM, that’s now Categories in your Posts are supposed to work. It makes your blog part of the WordPress.COM Tag and Category pages and is great for generating page views.

Having said that, if you add the Category Widget in the Sidebar or an Archive Page to Cutline (one of the themes that has an Archive Page), the link there will point to the Posts in your blog using that Category.

I don’t want it to leave the site. I want it to stay on my blog, not on competitive blogs. JustJennifer, thanks!

If you want it to stay on your blog, go to settings—Privacy and select: I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors

It’s not against privacy laws or policy. It’s the way things are set up at WordPress.com and if you don’t want it to work that way you have to set your blog to Private.
