Categories no longer nested in "edit post" mode

It seems that the post editor was changed, and now when I go to add categories they’re simply shown alphabetically. The nesting / hierarchy is no longer being shown, which makes it very hard to add categories. Is there a way to get the old behavior back?

Are you creating posts here? Dashboard > Posts > Add New

Ah, no, I wasn’t. I used the “new post” link at the top right of the menu bar, which apparently takes me to a different URL: https://wordpress.com/post/<somenumber>/new/
But it looks like if I use the “new post” link in the left menu bar than the categories are still nested, like normal. Thanks!

Yes, if you create posts on the dashboard of your own blog at Add New the hierarchical category structure is depicted. At this link https://wordpress.com/post/ that not the case.
