Categories Not Created
-
Hi,
I am using (INove by mg12) Theme.
In Dash Board, Under Posts when I click on Categories and Create a new Category, I can see the new Category added but when I refresh my page and see on my Actual Page the Categories are still empty while I can still see it in The Dash Board Administration Area.
Please help in case I am not doing it the right way…
Regards,
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I can help you with this. Until you actually publish posts and assign those Categories to them there is no data for the Categories widget to display.

Here’s the link to a video that describes how to add Categories to your posts as you are creating them. http://wordpress.tv/2009/01/14/adding-categories-and-tags-to-your-posts/
I hope this helps you – happy blogging. :) -
OMG, Such a quick response, I thought I will get a response in at least a week as of the work load you guys have.
Thanks @timethief, Really appreciate your response.
Let me go to the tutorial and try to understand where I am doing wrong and will update you.
Thanks again….

Aha!!!!
@timethief, You are Awesome.
Yes you are right you can make many Categories but if there are no Posts assigned to them, They won’t be displayed on your page.
Thanks again….

Thanks timethief,
OK, Now there is another Issue for you :)
I created Category and created a Sub-Category in it.
I created a Post and Assign it to the Sub-Topic.
Also I created One Topic and Assign it to both Category and It’s SubCategory.I can see the Category and Sub Category appeared but the Sub-Category is not showing under The Category while instead all the Sub-Cateories are shown Under Recent Posts.
Thanks in Advance…

Could we please clarify whether or not the blog you refer to is this one? http://thepmpguru.wordpress.com/
If not then what’s the URL for the blog in question starting with http://Also I created One Topic and Assign it to both Category and It’s SubCategory.
Show hierarchy – If you have parent and child categories (subcategories within your main categories) you can choose to display the hierarchy or just leave the list “flat”, without indication of which subcategories fit inside your main categories. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/categories-widget/

I am sorry for bugging you so much but with new bees it’s always the problems…
Yes you are right, It’s exactly the same: http://thepmpguru.wordpress.com/
I meant to say that I created a Parent Category and Assign Child Category But the child Category are not visible on the Main Page after even I post some topics as well…
-
Aha….
Thanks Alot, It’s done. I was playing wrong.
I won’t bother you further.
Thanks alot for your time.

If you have installed the Categories widget and have actually published posts to which you have assigned sub-categories and categories, and you have configured the the Categories widget to display hierarchy, and the posts do not display in the widget in the sidebar of your blog then you need Staff help. Here’s the contact link > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
