categories not displayed

in my write post page i see the category section but it does not show me the categories but insted it sayd view all categories and when i click it it opens up in a page where there is just simply a list of categories with no other buttons. no ‘ok’ or ‘done’ button? i want to choose the categories but in my write post page the categories are not shown. help

How it helps is that we often get folks posting questions here that are not hosted here at wordpress.COM so we need a blog link to be able to direct you to the right answer. (And putting your blog in your user name will avoid such questions in the future. See the sticky at the top of the forum.)
So since you are hosted here, we can try to help.
What you should be seeing when you see the list of categories is a box to the left that allows you to check off which category/categories you want to apply to the post. When you save the post, the categories you have selected will show at the top of the list with a check in the box.
If you are not seeing this, let us know what browser you are using. Also, try clearing your cache (as explained in the FAQ), closing your browser, and then restarting it.

The box that allows me to check off is not there at all. I am using firefox. before i used internet and it worked fine. maybe its the firefox

Have you tried doing the cookie dance? (Clear cahce, cookies, restart browser). I’m using FF3.0.3 and not having any problems.

When I click All Categories on your Write Post screen it shows me all of the categories in the box.

i have done it 100 times, clear cache and all that and it doesnt work. i even downloaded opera browser but still its the same. my work is left behind because i cant tick the categories.
