Categories not showing

matt, my post counts per category are wrong. My technology category says 52, but I only have a total of 26 posts and not all of them were in technology. That’s no big deal, its better than the 404 and 500 errors we were getting before :)

I just visited my blog. The categories now look to be restored correctly! However, the blogroll still looks messed up in the same way it was before — with most links completely missing, and other links appearing more than once, or in the wrong categories:

My blogroll is back, but still missing are some entries under a number of categories which normally show up as links in the sidebar. i.e., most categories appear to be missing at least a couple of links. And some categories under posts are still missing. Thanks for your efforts.

1. [Resolved] Two of the three sections of blogroll are missing.
2. Posts with “日本” tag are missing from “日本” tag page (the latest entry would probably show for about an hour before it too would disappear.
3. Can’t add new tags to existing posts.
4. All posts (except a recent one) within the last week are missing from the “日本” tag page.

RE: adding tags to existing posts — Same problem as guygene, I can’t add tags to existing posts.

Just like angelacw and guygene, I also am unable to add categories to existing posts. On the post management page, the category shows up, but the sidebar isn’t updated with the change. Same blogroll issues from earlier are persisting. http://transbay.wordpress.com

I was going to try this but when i opened a blog I found out it couldn’t even post links or categories? I’m kinda confused here, these should technically be programmed the same way throughout the templates used am I right? So how can updating the templates alter that? It makes no sense and this is ridiciulious IMO. Also blogger.com has similar issues, I tried deleting a blog and it told me I couldn’t because of an error? Give me a break man lmao
So a simple thing like posting links or categorizing them is easier done manually than using your blogs? Umm somethings wrong there.

Update: http://ninglun.wordpress.com/ blogroll restored; category dropdown OK but “my sites” tag still missing from cloud. Quick check of August 2007 shows many posts still “uncategorized”.

jamesewelch, the category count bug has been filed but I don’t think it’ll be fixed tonight, probably within the next week though.

1. Categories aren’t being updated. I have been struggling with it.
2. The posts don’t show the categories they belong to.
3. The update takes a lot of time.

The sidebar lists under the Categories as “No categories”, even though all posts are tagged. Most posts are displaying the incorrect category even though they are correct in the post management page.Thanks.

category widget does not display a whole hive of nested cats starting from ‘machines’ cat, albeit all of them are present on Manage/Categories tab.

I’m missing most of my blogroll and catagories from posts I uploaded today. Using the new Theme: Digg 3 Column.

Update: Categories and blogroll generally seem to be restored here. However, the sidebar doesn’t acknowledge when a category is added to or deleted from posts, and the post counts in each category aren’t always right, and sometimes switch back and forth between a couple numbers. http://transbay.wordpress.com Thanks again for your help!
