Categories not showing up?

  Under categories I chose 2 for my first post, life & new york but in the categories widget only one, new york is showing up… Is this by design or a glitch?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  alssndr.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this blog.

  Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog you are having the problem with.
