Categories Not Showing Up

  That’s odd. Which browser and version of it are you using?
  Please also confirm which the the two describe below that you did.

  It will be solved if you understand that the default category cannot be deleted until after you have either (1) created another default category or (2) you have assigned an existing category to become the default category. When you have one of those two then you will be able to delete the default Uncategorized category.

  You can also add new categories and manage existing ones from Posts -> Categories in your dashboard. The Posts -> Categories page in your dashboard displays all your categories and shows the name, description, and number of posts belonging to each category. If you move your mouse over a category a set of options will appear, allowing you to edit, quick-edit, or delete that category.
  Have you tried accessing your categories there?

  That did work for me. I made a category called “news” be the default. Now, “news” cannot be deleted, and “uncategorized” now has a red link (underneath, appears with a hover) for deleting.
