Categories not updating in blog post posting options

Add topic to favorites
I’ve updated my template with the categories I require (the dates are changed, it was provided by university), however now in the existing blog posts I can’t seem to change to the new updated categories. It still shows the old categories from the previous menu template. please help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,

If you’ve created and saved multiple menus, then you may choose the one you want displayed in the Header location at Customize > Menus > Menu Locations > Header.

Thanks for replying. I have actually already done that, the problem is that when publishing a blog post it isn’t showing the new categories, it’s giving the option of the old category headers with a few of the new ones mixed in but not all of them.

I’ve gotten around it at the moment by adding the existing blog posts as pages in the menu but I don’t wan to continue to do this as it will become really heavy.

Same here; though, I was able to update in the administration page. I just felt it to be awkward that it’s not reflected properly on the edit section.

Are you referring to the category options available at post editor > Post Settings > Categories & Tags > Categories?

Could you explain what you mean by this? I don’t even see how adding posts as pages would be possible.
