Categories numbers disappeared

  I tried the drop-down menu as jjbarchive suggested, and the post numbers appeared. But I do not want the drop-down menu. I want what I had—the categories with the numbers beside it. As I stated previously, the theme I use is Sandbox with custom CSS. I sure hope this is not permanent and it is just a fixable glitch.

  Any word from anywhere WP about the categories numbers and category widget tinkering by WP??????? I had messaged WP and not yet received a reply. The categories on my blog still remain numberless. Is this permanent or is this a bug that will be fixed?

  This may be such a small thing to fuss about. However, there have been so many changes lately with WP and I really do feel like my blog is a wee boat without a rudder in the WP seas.

  The problem is only partially solved for me. Whilst the category numbers are back, the ‘edit’ feature on my Categories widget is missing. I would remove it and insert again but since there is no edit button, I am unable to.

  I love it when the category counts are there :)
