categories pull down bar when posting entry

  Hi there. I am a long-time user of WordPress for my blog. Most recently, the “pull down” function has disappeared on my categories option when posting an entry. For example, when I attempted to post my entry on Millennials today, I am unable to access the category of “millennials” because there is no pull down bar that allows me to access it. It is not listed under my “most used categories” either, so I have to leave my entry “unmarked” or uncategorized. This just most recently disappeared. Can you help? I use a Macbook Pro and Google Chrome.
