Categories seem limited to only 5
-
Hi,
Using the weaver ii theme, in the dashboard I can kind of set up new categories for posts, but then they are not accessible at all when I write a post. My predecessor on the site had 5 set up; Daily Post, Members Post, news, stickypost and uncategorized.
I can set up a new category, eg ‘test’ with slug etc, but it doesn’t appear on the available list, either in dashboard, or when writing a post
A glitch, tick box I haven’t found, custom css code somewhere?
Cheers.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi cbwpsbirds,
cbwpsbirds.wordpress.com is currently using the Twenty Ten theme — Weaver II is only available for self hosted WordPress.org sites which suggests your site isn’t hosted on WordPress.com.
There is some information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org in this guide:
We are only able to help with WordPress.com sites here but support for WordPress.org sites is available on these community forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/
You may also want to contact the theme author to see if they are able to give you any advice.
Best of luck getting this sorted out!

Thank you for your reply.
Think I may have now sorted it – by clicking on the support for .org forum you mention, a quick search of topics, and it looks like we have a plugin called ‘restrict categories’ installed, which does just that! Playing with its settings and hopefully all will be fine now … ;-)
Thanks again (and will remember to go to wordpress.org/support next time)
