Categories stuck on no longer valid categories

    Hi,

    We are working in a site, where the uncategorized category keeps showing even so there is no uncategorized items.
    So we tried to delete uncategorized category by changing (settings>writing) the ‘default post category’, however the categories shown there are old, no longer exist.
    We can’t get rid of the uncategorized… we tried to rename it, but then the icons for the category don’t show on out theme.
    We have reinstalled wordpress and disable all the plugins without success.
    Any idea?

    Found the problem solution with the theme developers.

    it was a css fix.

    .product-categories li.wc-default-cat {
    display: inline-block;
    }
