Categories title – how do I fix spelling?
-
How do I change my category title “environment” to “Environment” with an upper case “E”? (I cannot seem to change the category title after it exists. I also thought to delete it then add it again, but couldn’t see how to delete the category title.) Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This thread is in the widgets section. I do not know why that is. We cannot edit data in widgets. We can only edit the data found in the Admin sections of our blogs. And Yes you can edit Category titles. See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/category-management/

Also note that although the capitalization may be of import to you, search engines only “see” (if we can call it that) in lower case regardless of whether or not we use capitals.

You can’t change it because you’ve got it as a tag as well. Tags and categories are exactly the same thing, so there’s no point in having the same word or phrase as both a tag and a category, plus you run into problems such as the one you’re facing now.
To delete a category or a tag you go to (dashboard sidebar) Posts > Categories or Post Tags respectively.

Dear panaghiotisadam, your insight that it was both a tag and a category helped me see why it couldn’t change, and your instructions helped me fix it. Thank you.
Dear timethief, your link to the category management was also helpful. Thanks!

yes, and sometimes you might need help from staff. I imported my real blog into a test blog so it would have some posts in it to experiment with. But it has a category which has no posts, nor tags. I think because of the capitalization problem. Fixed in real blog, but not worth the trouble for the test blog…
I surely had no idea what I was doing when I started!

@tt: You’re welcome, but you didn’t post anything wrong, so mine were additions, not corrections!
