CATEGORIES: Undisired and never checked catgrs are appearing in different posts

Yesterday I discovered several posts with random categories assigned.
Is it an effect of the maintenance work and new tag/category display?
Should I correct all the posts by myself?

fcoelho, I too have this problem.
I deleted the category “Uncategorised”,
and now there is no such thing called default category.
Random category-number gets assigned to new posts. -
Go to Dashboard->Options->Writing and you will see the options to set a new default category for your posts and/or your links

I haven´t deleted the uncategorized box.
Suddenly different posts that were already categorized in 2 o 3 options appeared with new different categories in addition to those that I ve chosen while posting.

fc–I’ve been having the same problem. It’s always something I’ve tagged once or twice which suddenly has MANY if not ALL of my posts categorized. And both times its been very political-related stuff like “support our troops” or “Ron Paul.” It seems to me like a potential hacking issue, especially since I’ve read of several different people having this problem lately.
