Categories widget help

My blog has a categories widget, and I have set up only two categories, with no posts in them yet. My blog is new.
The categories widget shows “no categories” why???
There are two categories and one has a sub category and, still it does not show any categories! The categories show fine in the dash board but not the blog page!Please help soon!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Because you have not published a post with a category or sub-category assigned to it the Categories widget has no links to any posts that it can display.
