Categories won’t update

  I seem to be able to update only half of my category titles. Using either Quick Edit or Edit, the remining four or five refuse to update.

  Any ideas?

  You only have 2 posts, one assigned to each of your 2 visible categories. Your other categories will appear when you have a post assigned to them. Categories with no posts in them will never show.

  I actually have several posts scheduled, all with categories assigned. What I had to do to resolve the issue was delete all the categories and redo them. Time-consuming and a bit irritating.

  You shouldn’t have to delete the categories to change the titles. You should be able to edit category titles from the Edit or Quick Edit links on the Categories page in your admin section. If you continue to have problems doing that, please drop us a line at the WordPress.com support contact page.

  I tried to do as you suggested but no joy on half of the attempted changes.

  I’ll let you know if there are any more problems.

  I have the same problem – category names refuse to be edited. I get a message saying “category not updated” when I try to update names. I have sent a message to WordPress.com support.

  The site linked to your name is not a WP.com blog. Nobody will be able to help you if you don’t change it to the blog or provide a link, starting with http.
