Categoris in Horizontal Nav Bar
-
I’ve been running into a problem with the Twenty Ten theme. Though I know that I shouldn’t edit the theme itself, I want to create a child theme from twenty ten (on a mac) but I have no idea how to do that.
The edit I want to make is to show categories in the horizontal navigation bar (where “Home” is located) instead of only showing pages, as I want posts to be grouped in different “pages” (sorry for using the word in two different senses).
The best way, I believe, is to categorize the posts and enable the horizontal nav bar to display categories instead of only pages.
Does anyone know how to do that and could either do it or teach me how to?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t create child themes here at WordPress.com. Child themes can only be done on self-hosted WordPress installations using the software from WordPress.org.
Using a Custom Menu, you can add virtually anything you want to the menu system, including categories, custom links to external sites, posts, pages, tags pages. You don’t need to create a child theme to do that.
If you are talking about a different site than the one referenced in your first post here, then can we have a link to that site please?
