In a related question, can someone tell me the purpose of creating categories for posts?
I’m also wondering how to move the archive on the front page of my blog to a more prominent position. Right now, it’s at the bottom. Thanks!

Please don’t hijack existing threads with different issues. You can find the answer to your first question in the Support documents, and the second one in the theme forum.

Yikes. I’m new to blogging and posting on forums. I didn’t mean to break a rule. Since I started the conversation I didn’t think I was ‘hijacking.’ I did search the support documents but was hoping someone could explain it to me a little differently. Some of us newbies just need a little more help than what’s written in the documentation and timethief was so friendly/helpful I felt that this was a safe place to ask a beginner’s question.

Just start a new thread for a new issue. That way people searching through the forum for the same issue can find your thread and get the answers.

We just ask that everyone keep comments on topic in any given thread, so that it’s easier for everyone to follow and assist. If you have a comment related to the question, that’s fine. if not, we ask that you create a new thread.
